Thursday, 7/21

Wyatt dropped off Steve at the kennel and swung by my place. We went back to his place, picked up Tina and drove to Madeline Island.

Here's the view from the ferry when Wyatt's standing in front of one's camera:

We checked in:

de do do do, de da da da

When we arrived, Dan and Teresa were on their way out to play in their new kayak.

That night, there were nine of us in a rented townhome. Some people were already on the island and people trickled in all weekend. Some of us played cards for a while, then we went to eat at the Beach Club. After we ate, a big group of people, including most of Ben and Nora's family members, came and we played sh*thead. When you are the sh*thead, you have to wear an unusual hat. (The Vikings hat was requested for Nora's Packer-fan family.) Look at these losers...

Friday, 7/22

Woke up, rented a scooter.

Saw Bambi, went swimming in Lake Superior.

Went to a barbecue. The bride and her twin sister showed up having done one of those Creepy Twin Things...

Festive...

Then we went back to the Beach Club.

Saturday, 7/23

Woke up, helped set up.

Went to breakfast, missed this shot because for some reason Wyatt wouldn't stop the car next to the dog when it was taking care of business.

The wedding ceremony was simple and very personalized. I was in charge of playing the music, so between iPod moments I wandered around in the back.

The reception started at Woods Manor, the same place where the wedding was held. The band was Duck for the Oyster. They were excellent.

Then the reception moved to The Pub and became a party... I took a lot of random shots that were pretty ridiculous, really. Here are the shots that I salvaged from the wreckage.

Sunday, 7/24

Got up, ate a leisurely breakfast. We took our time packing and drove home.

p.s.

Here's my favorite shot of the weekend. It inspired a little idea that I hope to find time to make more than an idea...
